What is Fiver Fest Faversham?

Many people in Faversham will have heard about the forthcoming Fiver Fest initiative which is coming to town for two weeks from the 10th October.  This campaign is organised nationally by the group Totally Locally which supports local, independent businesses and town centres around the country.

Keen to see it brought to Faversham, local business website InFaversham decided to collaborate with Totally Locally to create FIVER FEST FAVERSHAM!

It’s a great initiative which encourages all kinds of local businesses – whether they’re high street shops, online sellers or service providers – to put together a special package or offer for £5 that shows off their business and gives customers a great opportunity to sample their products or services.

Great example of Faversham organisations working together

Fiver Fest been enthusiastically embraced by many Faversham businesses who are keen to work together on initiative which encourages local residents and shoppers to support the town’s businesses.

In fact, William Property Management love the initiative so much, they have sponsored the campaign to enable the production of posters and leaflets to promote Fiver Fest Faversham to the general public. It’s also a great opportunity for them to shout about the fact they are triple-award winning Faversham letting agent.

Participating businesses have been asked for voluntary donations to take part to help contribute towards the costs. This, combined with the voluntary hours put in by InFaversham’s volunteers, is a wonderful example of the community working together for the good of Faversham.

Although local councils are not responsible for or involved in Fiver Fest Faversham, Swale Borough Council has recognised that it’s a worthwhile initiative and enabled organisers to take advantage of its printing facilities, which has been a great help.

About InFaversham

InFaversham is a community organisation created during lockdown by volunteers from local marketing agencies – Bryter Digital, Red Dog PR and Shore Way Marketing –  that wanted to be involved in something which supported much loved local businesses, particularly those threatened by COVID19.

It includes a website featuring Faversham businesses – and regular blogs about shopping, eating and drinking in Faversham – along with social media accounts promoting local businesses and other promotional activity including media relations and printed materials.  Currently this activity is carried out for free.

Ima Rix, from Red Dog PR, explains the importance of businesses working together to achieve great things for Faversham.  “Many people love Faversham as it’s a great place to live, shop, visit and do business. But currently many businesses are struggling during very difficult times with very few resources at their fingertips to help them market themselves to local people.   Also, there are thousands of Faversham supporters who love to shop local and some very good social media groups where they can find recommendations, but no one-stop-shop where they can find information about local businesses and services.  That’s why we created InFaversham to plug this gap and promote Faversham as a whole whilst providing a useful service to residents.”
